Legal Status

ISSI is a registered non-profit organization under the Indian Public Trust Act; Regd. No. 39/86, dated 13th March, 1986. We are also registered to receive tax-deductible foreign funds under the
Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

A special note to our donors in the United States:  ISSI is not currently a 501(c)3 organization. At the moment we are trying to figure out if it is a  viable idea for a small non-profit like ours to expend our limited resources to register as a non-profit in the US.
